Former widow Bella Rudimenta and her younger companion, Seymore Travels, finally tied the knot, or perhaps in Seymore’s case, cinched the purstrings. As the high-society gala reaches its peak, the celebrated couple stands in a grand, whimsical daze, peering over a three-tiered wedding cake that serves as the centerpiece of their suspicious, or rather, auspicious celebration. The groom, Mr. Travels, who sports his signature thick, moused punk hairdo and a sharp tuxedo, gazes down with a look of dubious wonder, while the bride, draped in an extravagant green feathered boa and a golden beaded necklace, tilts her head in sheer delight. Between them, the cake is a masterpiece of confectionary architecture, intricately decorated with purple grape clusters, pink hearts, and a tiny, elegant topper of a couple holding hands. As a plume of blue smoke curls from Bella’s long cigarette holder, the couple seems to marvel at how the cake—much like their own exotic social circle—is built on layers of fluff, flair, and a speck of theatrical chaos.
