Across the table, the gentleman in the green bow tie, Clarence Cardagain, keeps his hand held close to his chest showing no emotion with his placid poker face. Clarence’s longtime girlfriend, Pearl Peepers, sporting an elegant brown bun, places a card down with a flourish, and to the amazement of the others, one card, the Queen of Hearts, suddenly trumps everything.
